Portrait Shooting at Sekinchan

Truthfully speaking, I was quite nervous when a friend of mine asked me whether I can shoot some portraits for her sister and brother in law. I had never done this so called 'engagement' shots before and was quite stress that I would not be able to deliver the best photos for them. And the fact that I had not actually touched my camera for quite some time!

The couple choose to have their shooting at Sekinchan, the paddy fields located at Kuala Selangor. As I had been to the place before, mentally I was trying to search for some good scenery for the shooting. After the shooting, we continued to shoot some balloon shots at a park near my condo. Never knew such beautiful place existed right in front of my condo.

These are some photos from my first engagement/ portrait photography and I hope the couple is happy with the photos. As my photoshop skills are still quite sucky, so most of the photos straight out from the camera with very minimal editing.  My photography is back but with a major sunburn from the outing!

Project of the Year

Ok. I am sounding a bit cliche here. Yes, I am currently doing some projects for my brother's wedding this coming September. Will be in charge of the decorations of the venue.

Some of the work in progress...

All photos are taken using my SIII, hence the lack of quality. I think I must start playing my 7D again!

THE Shoe

Why blog about my wedding shoe and not the dress?

For those who know me well, they will know I am a shoe person.

And I have search months for the perfect pair and even have some other shoes as backup until I saw this at Christy Ng.

Post Wedding Blues

I almost forgotten my blog which I had abandoned for the past 1 month. I was too preoccupied with the wedding preparation and now that's over, I finally have time to sit down and reflect on what happen that day, the day I am no longer single but a new status as someone's wife, daughter in law and lost my freedom along the way, haha.

Anyway, since there are about 3000+ photos which the photographer had taken on the tea ceremony and dinner reception, I have yet to sort out most of them. In fact, I have not actually managed to look at each one of them except of keep repeating the slide show that the photographers did for me. I must say, the RM3000+ I spend on hiring Jian and Simon was the best investment ever as they were so sporting, cool and took heaps of elegant photo of us celebrating this special day.

And not forgetting I had the best bunch of jimuis ever with them executing my dream wedding so well, down to the tiniest detail and decoration, as well as, my cousin sister for tolerating my temper and stress during the wedding.

I was never an emotional person but I am very very touch when my hubby give his speech during the dinner when he mentioned our LDR and how tough I must have gone through that when he's not around. I was  determined not to cry when my dad and mum gave me away during the tea ceremony but could not hold back my tears.

And so now, I have been married for almost a month and some have asked me how's married life? My hubs have replied stress, yup stress is always there but at the end of the day, after a long day at work, I am just glad to have someone waiting for me at home.

Long Overdue Updates

I did a check on my last post and oh my..it was like almost a month ago. Things had been very hectic for the past month with my weekends were fully booked for wedding stuff, buying stuff for the house and getting myself the tittle Mrs just last weekend.

Yup, I am officially no longer Ms.Wong. Colleagues and friends asked me how I feel, but honestly, the feeling have not really sink in.

Anyway, the next few weeks will be extremely busy as I have a final fitting for my wedding gown, confirming on the guest list and the photos from the bridal house, guo dai lai and many more. Not sure I will have the time and energy to keep updating this blog.

Oh btw, I had the most amazing hens night ever, organised by the best ever bunch of chickas and yup I am the mother hen, I guess, haha. Wearing a sash with the word Bride-to-Be and a tiara do serve a good purpose when trying to enter a bar full of of people.

By the way, here's a photo from my ROM ceremony. Love my green shoes and gerbera bouquet A LOT!

Props

Just a short update on the pre wedding photo shoot last Tuesday. It was great fun to pose in front of the camera with pretty clothes and makeup. Here's the prop I used for the picnic scene during the outdoor shoot. I replaced wine and food with books since the both of us were geeks in school.

Another photo is the behind the scene of me of being photographed lying on the grass pretending to be pretty, haha. I definitely enjoyed the photo shoot more than the man! Now can't wait to see the rest of the photos.

Wedding Updates

It's another 3 months to the wedding and many people have ask me how is the preparation. There are plenty of things to do and plenty of things to buy and yet I have not done much preparation in the last few months. I have yet to shoot for the pre wedding photos, have not file for the ROM (now not even sure whether the date we wanted is available), have not chosen my gown yet, have not gotten our wedding band which I am almost certainly sure I will end up with a stainless steel ring for the rest of my life with DeGem or Love & Co only in my dreams :(, have not buy my wedding shoes and I am not even in the mood to hunt for one right now, have not gotten our bed and mattress, have not gotten the curtains because I don't know which colour to coordinate and match the room, have not gone for food tasting, have not printed or even finalise the wedding cards design, so many have nots till I lost count!

Sigh, just thinking of all these things already made me stress, depress and sad. Stress because I have to handle many things on my own. Depress because I could have gotten a better quality on some of these things if the budget for reno does not burst until it can not burst anymore. Sad because I can't even change my handphone although it almost certainly hanged each time someone calls me and because if I do change, I can't afford to buy him a ring. Even super sad because I won't have the luxury of having a shoe cabinet for my shoes.

Wedding Photographer

Caught this couple on camera in Puerto Rico while I was waiting for the sunset.
They are actually taking their pre wedding photos and somehow, I love the fact that their expressions seem to be they are in their own world, oblivious to the surrounding and only have eyes for each other. So romantic.

Based on this picture, I think I can be at least an amateur wedding photographer..muahahaha..syok sendiri.

Just something to lighten up and bring myself to the wedding bells mood since mine will be up in exactly 5 more months.

Ok. I am PANIC now......

Celebrating Leng Leng and Kian Fei

The bride
I realised I have not been writing much on travel these days. The thing is I have not gone for a proper travel since my Tibet Bhutan Nepal trip last August. Most photos taken were on special occasions as well as the latest photo shooting trip to Sekinchan last Wednesday. That will be in another post.

This one is all about the wedding I attended last month in Penang as one of the ji muis cum photographer cum hairsytlist cum "matchmaker". This time it was my second time shooting for wedding and the outcome is not as bad as the first. At least there were many shots that I was at least satisfied and this was probably due to the fact that I have gotten used to my heavy big ass 7D coupled with a lighter lens, a cheapo 50mm 1.8 borrowed from Bee. I gotten hooked to it the first time it was mounted on my 7D and wow...I practically used it during the whole shooting!

Technical stuff aside, a big congratulations to the cute couple. Like the old saying..they are just made for each other!

V & N Wedding

Since I kind of 'signed' a secrecy agreement with my cousin brother not to publish or disclose any of his wedding photos.. so I am just going to upload a few which do not directly disclose his face.
